A scarce traditional man's vest from the Apo Kayan Tribe, who reside in the North and East portion of Borneo known banded with red trade cloth at the neck and arms. There is a black trade cloth band at the waist belos which is a finely embroidered traditiona band. with fringe. There is fading as well as losses to insects in the embroidered borders. The bands of Nassau shells are tight with only a few losses.The back is 17" x 24"and the front is 17" x 19'
