Papua New Guinea Biwat People, Yuat River region. A ceremonial flute with the face modeled over coconut shells and the body over cane. Modeled with clay, resin, cowrie and snail shells, boars tusks and cassowary feathers. Cracks and losses across the bridge of the nose. One missing tusk and damage to one other. Numerous age cracks. Mid 20th C.
