South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Sa' dan Toraja People. A very fine example of a carved wooden door commonly identified with Torajan tombs. The worn but well defined, stylized water buffalo is a symbol of power and the staff between his horns is a symbol of defense. Early 20th C. 35" high, 21" wide.
