Called Maguindadao Matito, this kris was carried by the warriors of the Maguindadao tribe of Mindanao. The wood hilt is cane wrapped and in very good condition. The heavy fighting blade is well crafted, straight, with only one small nick. There are minor forging flaws and a few small areas of darkening. There are signs of light cleaning by some former owner. The scabbard is original to the sword and in very good condition but loosening at the seams. Overall length 26.75", blade 28.5". ex Butterfield & Butterfield 1998.
