Chinese, Qing Dynasty Trousse Set
During the Qing Dynasty, the Qianlong Emperor ruled it mandatory that all Manchu and Mongols wear and use these sets. Apparently in an effort to continue the horse warrior tradition of cutting meat from the bone. This set is very unusual in that it features a knife in the form of a Chinese sword called Jian which is condidered one of the four major Chinese weapons. The sword is done in exact detail and shows wear from use and sharpening. The chop sticks are antique ivory. The case is wood with silver and brass overlay. A unique, one of a kind set.
In very good, original condition. Set is 11" overall, blade is 6 3/4"
