Chinese, Qing Dynasty, Standing Buddha with Golden Bowl
The hardwood carving of the Buddha depicts him standing with the left arm bent with the hand holding a golden bowl The right arm is bent with the hand somewhat extended. The face, hands and bowl are gold gilt, the body and robes gesso and lacquer. There is a rectangular hole in the back to receive prayers. The Buddha stands on a 4 inch lotus carved base. Some wear and minor flaking to the paint. The index finger of the right hand is missing.
