Japanese, Painting of a Bejin Dancing, Late Meiji Period
An attractive pigment paint on paper, rendering of a Bejin in what appears to be a movement from the traditional Cherry Blossom Festival dance. The traditional attire reflects the Meiji Emperors emphasis on conserving Japanese traditions as the west encroaches on Japan.
Signed and frames under glass.
