The detailed carving on the body of the drum features a Kpeliyee mask used in Poro, male initiation ceremonies along with birds and animals that symbolize guidance and protection. The female supporting the drum eludes to the Sandango. The society of women who thru the initiation of young women teach the spiritual values of the community.
