A rarely encountered Tutsi oval shield, constructed in the spiral coiling technique usinf split cane and native adhesive. The well constructed handle appears to be a part fo the weaving process. In the center of the shield there is a wooden deflector cone firmly mounted. The shield is finished with pigment paint
