The Chokwe People historically rely on the village diviners to solve a variety of issues and problems . The masks used by these Diviners are each created for that specific individual and are one of a kind.
This unusual mask reflects the classic Chokwe hair, eyes and ears. What makes it unique is the presence of the opening under the chin through which the Diviner might speak or see during a Divination.
In very good condition with nice patina.
Accompanied by a metal display stand.
